Program Description
Weight gain has been identified as having a correlation with antiretroviral therapy (ART) and is common among people living with HIV (PLWH). This clinical concern has the potential to exacerbate the risk of comorbidities, reduce quality of life, and lead to patient reluctance to continue adherence to their therapies. Therefore, reaching and maintaining a healthy weight has a certain significance, especially in PLWH, due to the association of ART and weight gain. This podcast will explore the relationship between ART and weight gain in PLWH and will also delve into the importance of keeping weight gain in mind, the assessment and management of weight gain, and ways pharmacists can provide expert care for PLWH.
