Program Description
Treatment targets for individuals with diabetes are dependent on both disease-specific and patient-specific factors, which is why pharmacist and pharmacy technician involvement with individualized treatment plans is critical. As such, they should be familiar with the different interfaces of currently available and newly approved integrated CGM (iCGM) devices in the management of diabetes. Despite their efficacy, hesitancy among both patients and clinicians with new technology has affected use of iCGM. This article will review key data points, recent technological advances in features and safety of iCGM devices, and opportunities for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to optimize diabetes management.
