Program Description

Treatment for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) includes supportive therapy, transfusions, and pharmacologic treatment with complement-blocking agents. Traditional complement inhibitors include those that target C5; however, patients may continue to require blood transfusions to manage anemia, and a subset of patients may remain symptomatic or experience breakthrough hemolysis.  Recent advancements in the management of PNH include approvals of a C3 inhibitor as well as an orally administered factor B inhibitor that provide additional treatment options for people living with PNH. This second webinar in a 3-part series will focus on the efficacy and safety data for current and emerging agents for treating PNH as well as the treatment approach. A Powered by Patients™ interview will be incorporated into the activity to highlight the treatment journey for a person living with PNH.
