Program Description
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted patients with cancer in multiple ways. Patients with cancer are at a higher risk for contracting COVID-19, and they are also more likely to experience higher morbidity and mortality. The higher risk and mortality present critical challenges for oncology teams who care for and manage these patients. Several organizations have issued cancer-specific guidance for health care providers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and these recommendations continue to evolve quickly based on growing data and supportive evidence. Oncology care teams’ roles have transformed to meet changing practices and challenges. This program will highlight changes to oncology practice and share opportunities to help improve patient outcomes during the pandemic.
