Program Description
Patients with breast cancer are classified into subtypes based on hormone receptor status, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status, and tumor staging. HER2 is overexpressed in 15% to 20% of breast cancer cases while tumor-associated calcium signal transducer 2 (Trop-2) is overexpressed in all breast cancer subtypes. Oncology pharmacists must be familiar with emerging treatments that target antigens present in breast cancer cells, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) that are FDA approved or currently under investigation for breast cancer. This webinar will explore clinical data for the use of ADCs in the treatment of breast cancer subtypes, including HER2-low expression and triple-negative breast cancer. Additionally, differences between HER2-targeted and Trop-2-targeted ADCs in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer will also be reviewed.
