Demodex blepharitis is a chronic eyelid disease caused by mite infestation. Though this condition affects millions of people in the United States, it is frequently underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed, contributing to substantial clinical and economic burden. Historically managed with limited, off-label therapies and over-the-counter options, the approval of targeted agents signals new approaches to management and patients' ocular health outcomes. This webinar specifically focuses on evidence-based clinical updates and strategic tools necessary for managed care professionals and pharmacists to navigate this shifting landscape. Recent data evaluating health care resource utilization will be analyzed and used to inform the development of strategies to mitigate access barriers, including optimizing prior authorization and step therapy processes, to reduce the systemic costs associated with delayed or suboptimal treatment for patients with Demodex blepharitis.
