Program Description
The recent approvals of additional HER2-targeted agents for treatment of metastatic breast cancer have contributed to improved outcomes for patients with HER2-positive disease, but have also complicated treatment selection. To provide appropriate access and cost-effective use of HER2-targeted treatments, managed care professionals need to be familiar with the clinical data and indications for the use of these agents. In this panel discussion, managed care experts will differentiate among available and emerging agents, as well as detail how these agents fit within guideline recommendations to support optimal treatment sequencing. Panelists will discuss and debate considerations for choosing among guideline-recommended therapies and the impact of later lines of therapy on patient outcomes. Managed care professionals will incorporate strategies to overcome barriers and optimize treatment approaches to ensure cost-effective, outcomes-based, concordant treatment for patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer.
