Program Description

Specialty pharmacists should properly educate and counsel patients with age-related macular degeneration/diabetic macular edema (AMD/DME) about the importance of treatment adherence. Strategies, such as education and counseling on the risks of AMD and therapeutic options available, implemented by pharmacists can equip patients with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions regarding their care. Pharmacists are in a unique position to ensure a reduction in treatment-related burdens and optimization of treatment through personalized recommendations and individualized care, effectively improving adherence and access to therapies. This third webinar of the curriculum will discuss the impact of patient education and counseling on AMD/DME treatment and management.
