This activity is part 1 in a 3-part webinar curriculum.
Program Description
Patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME) experience significant disease- and treatment-related burdens, such as a higher risk of mortality and frequency of injections, that negatively impact their quality of life and contribute to adherence issues. Specialty pharmacists can assist patients in addressing these burdens through identification of appropriate management strategies and treatment advances for AMD and DME to ensure improved adherence. Pharmacists should be also aware of the differentiating factors that influence treatment decisions for a patient. This first webinar of the curriculum will highlight challenges patients with AMD and DME experience, as well as opportunities to improve the quality of patient care with new and emerging therapies.
