Dermatologic conditions can drastically affect the quality of patients’ lives. The burden of these conditions, and acne in particular, encompasses physical and psychological well-being, social relationships, and economic costs of treatment and skin care regimens. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are well positioned to assist patients with acne with proper skin care and skin health. This activity will examine the use of OTC options including potential benefits of using ceramide-containing products. In this podcast featuring a Powered by Patients interview™, a patient living with acne will share their personal experience with OTC care, including challenges they encountered living with acne and the treatment burden.
