Program Description
Precision treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) relies on accurate identification of patients with biomarker alterations. These advancements in disease identification require that oncology pharmacists have a deep understanding of precision medicine for optimal patient care. However, biomarker testing practices varies by practice setting, cancer type, and mutation, with inconsistent adherence to guidelines. This session addresses the latest solutions for integrating molecular testing techniques, the interpretation of results, and the application of this information to select appropriate targeted therapies. Expert faculty will discuss resources and models for delivering precision oncology care. This program aims to equip oncology pharmacists with the tools and expertise to effectively integrate biomarker testing into their practice, ultimately improving patient outcomes in NSCLC.
