Advancing Care in Metastatic Prostate Cancer Care: Emerging Combination Therapies and Patient-Centered Strategies

Program Description

Despite recent therapeutic advancements, prostate cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related death. Metastatic recurrence is common, with 5-year survival rates as low as 34%. The treatment landscape for metastatic prostate cancer has expanded, with novel hormone therapies in combination with androgen deprivation therapy with or without chemotherapy becoming the standard of care. Oncology pharmacists play a crucial role in integrating these new treatment regimens into care plans, navigating insurance barriers, presenting clinical evidence to other health care professionals, and incorporating supportive care strategies into patient treatment regimens. Faculty panelists will lead patient case discussions focusing on the application of combination therapy in metastatic prostate cancer, considerations for treatment selection, and mitigating adverse effects of therapy.
