This activity includes patient counseling video vignettes.
Program Description
Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (AD) in children significantly impacts their quality of life, as well as that of their caregivers. Managing moderate to severe pediatric AD can present challenges due to concerns about medication safety and adherence. Biologic therapies offer a promising new approach for pediatric AD as they target specific inflammatory pathways, with safety and efficacy pointing towards their potential role in overcoming limitations of traditional therapies. Specialty pharmacists can support the use of biologics for pediatric patients with AD by providing education, monitoring for adverse effects, and ensuring medication adherence. This session features case-based video vignettes that will examine treatment challenges in pediatric AD and assist specialty pharmacists in sharing counseling pearls and navigating strategies to ensure the optimal use of biologics in the management of pediatric AD.
