Program Description

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common form of leukemia, primarily affecting older adults. Historic treatment approaches have focused on prolonging survival and improving quality of life through the use of chemoimmunotherapy. BTK and BCL-2 inhibitors have impacted the management of CLL, and pharmacists are essential in optimizing clinical outcomes for this patient population. This activity will review clinical data for the use of BTK and BCL-2 inhibitors in CLL and will also focus on the rationale for combination therapies. Additionally, key counseling points will be enforced, including adverse effect management strategies and methods to improve coordination of care.
