Pharmacist Interventions: Optimizing Care for People Living with HIV
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Janssen Therapeutics, Division of Janssen Products, LP.
In recent years, weight gain due to antiretroviral therapy (ART) has come to the forefront of conversation. Addressing this complex issue and individualizing care for people living with HIV (PLWH) is critical to ensure optimal outcomes.
This curriculum will include a podcast and 3-part webinar series to equip pharmacists with the latest data related to weight gain in PLWH. Each activity will build upon an understanding of those at highest risk and reinforce the importance of assessment of weight gain. Additionally, pharmacists will become familiar with the mechanism of weight gain due to ART, considerations in selection and modification of ART, as well as the functions of the pharmacist caring for PLWH. Pharmacists who complete all 4 activities will receive a certificate of completion that demonstrates their dedication to optimizing care for PLWH.
