Individualizing HIV Treatment: The Role of the Pharmacist With Addressing Racial Bias, Tolerability, and Weight Gain
This activity is supported by educational grants from ViiV Healthcare and Janssen Therapeutics, Division of Janssen Products, LP.

Pharmacists have a distinct opportunity for leading the ever-progressing care of HIV. They hold a unique position through providing medication management and personalized communication. A thorough understanding of the initiation and monitoring of HIV treatment will allow pharmacists to exercise these skills in the most effective manner. The 3 activities within this curriculum will review critical knowledge of therapies in the HIV treatment armamentarium, empowering pharmacists to provide optimal recommendations throughout the care continuum. Important considerations beyond clinical pearls include mitigating bias, improving tolerability, and evaluating weight gain at periodic intervals. Participants who complete all 3 activities in the learning series will receive a certificate of completion detailing their commitment to improving outcomes and quality of life for people living with HIV.
