Emerging Biologic Therapy for the Treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in the Pediatric Population

A 3-Part Webinar Curriculum

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a condition that occurs due to inflammation of the esophagus, can impose substantial treatment and quality of life burdens on patients and their caregivers. Pharmacists are essential in improving management of this lifelong condition. This webinar curriculum will examine symptoms of EoE to improve patient identification and the emerging evidence for use of approved and emerging biologic therapies with a focus on pediatric patients. As biologic therapies for EoE continue to be investigated, specialty pharmacists will have greater opportunities to assist patients with access to medications and evaluating the safety and appropriateness of these medications. The third webinar will culminate with patient counseling videos that detail educational points regarding the nuances of disease management and use of biologic therapy. Participants who complete all 3 webinars in this curriculum will be awarded a certificate of completion demonstrating their dedication to improving their knowledge of the treatment of EoE in the pediatric population.
