Drew Massey

Director of Pharmacy Operations

Fruth Pharmacy, Inc.

Drew Massey is the current Director of Pharmacy and Clinical Operations for Fruth Pharmacy, a retail community pharmacy chain based out of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He completed a bachelor’s in Chemistry and Biology and followed in the footsteps of his family pursuing a career in teaching before choosing a final destination in the field of Pharmacy. Since then, he has not looked back, taking every opportunity to learn, participate, and engage. Throughout the pandemic, Drew will tell you that it has been “Boots on the Ground” taking the profession of pharmacy in new directions and striving to establish our roles as providers. “The practice of pharmacy has to evolve in order to meet the changing demands and landscape of practice,” Drew often notes, and “the new relationships between providers established through the pandemic response has given pharmacy a new voice, direction, and future.”

“My husband, Drew is the backbone that lets his pharmacists practice at the top of their game while constantly promoting a healthy work/life balance because he believes top notch care starts with happy employees. With COVID and the continuing struggles with pharmacy reimbursement, Drew oversaw a chain wide hour reduction but was adamant that no one would have a rate change nor would there be on position or pharmacist lost. He always looks out for others first and himself last, whether it’s his staff or his patients. He believes in giving back to the patients, their friends and families, and the communities. He has led his team to better care through immunizations, patient communications, and community involvement. I believe he should be recognized for a career of hard work and selfless caring, implementation, and innovation, and being both a role model and a leader in community pharmacy.”
